Motion text

That this House applauds the joint work of Birmingham City Council's Economic Development Department, Birmingham Heartlands, Joblink, the Birmingham Centre for Manufacturing, Coventry City Council, local training and enterprise councils and all who helped to persuade the Government to invest in the success of Jaguar Cars in winning assistance to build the new mini-saloon in Birmingham; thanks all those who work with Jaguar Cars on this achievement, which will sustain and create jobs in the West Midlands, Merseyside and elsewhere, and calls upon the European Commission to endorse this package of regional selective assistance to help overcome high levels of unemployment and encourage manufacturing excellence.
