Motion text

That this House notes with sadness the death of Harold Wilson; recalls his lasting contribution to the economic, social and cultural life of Britain, including the establishment of the Open University, the promotion of equal opportunities, progressive social legislation, overseas aid and international friendship; records its appreciation that he re-established Labour as the 'natural party of Government' in the 1960s and 1970s; and considers it an honour to have known and worked with him.
