Motion text

That this House condemns the honourable Member for Hamilton for failing to make available the evidence collected as part of the Labour Party investigation into allegations of corruption on Labour-controlled Monklands District Council despite repeated requests from the Secretary of State for Scotland; regrets that the Labour Party took no action in Monklands as a result of its own inquiry carried out over a year ago; and calls upon the honourable Member for Hamilton to make all the evidence from the Labour Party internal inquiry available to the Scottish Office immediately so that a full open independent inquiry could be established under section 211.
