"leave out from `World War II' to end and add `recognising that his family after many inquiries now accept that he is no longer alive; commends the work done by the honourable Member for Basildon and the honourable Member for Newcastle under Lyme who, with others, have obtained permission from Westminster City Council to erect a memorial to him in a small park in the City; and looks forward to the completion of the arrangement so that it may be unveiled to mark the actions of this heroic man.'."

Original Motion Text

That this House, on the fiftieth anniversary of his disappearance, honours Raoul Wallenberg for his outstanding work on behalf of those persecuted in Hungary during World War II; and calls upon her Majesty's Government to take all possible steps to ascertain from the former Soviet Union the whereabouts of this heroic man and to secure his return to freedom.
