at end add, `because it would achieve, once and for all, the goal of removing the setting of Members' pay from Members' themselves and the degrading spectacle of Members arguing amongst themselves how much they are worth.'.

That this House is convinced that the question of Members' and Ministers' pay should be referred to the Nolan Committee immediately with a request that they report with recommendations by 30th April.
