MORDECHAI VANUNU
EDM #467
Tabled 30 January 1997
1996-97 Session
There has been an amendment to this EDM.
That this House notes that Mordechai Vanunu has now been held in continuous and unrestricted solitary confinement in Ashkelon Prison in Israel for over 10 years; recognises and applauds the most recent coverage in the Israeli press which at last reveals the facts of Vanunu's violent kidnapping from Rome on 30th September 1986, which commenced here in London; and deplores the Government's failure to initiate an official inquiry into allegations that the conspiracy to hatch and set in motion the kidnapping was carried out in this country.
