Suggested Amendment

"leave out from `House' to end of line 4 and insert `congratulates the Serjeant at Arms for introducing effective in-service training for House of Commons staff; further commends the Serjeant at Arms for getting involved in the Investors in People initiative ; and urges the extension of both initiatives throughout the House.'."

Original Motion Text

That this House deplores the expenditure by the Serjeant at Arms' Department on a so-called Customer Care training programme for the Doorkeepers, who certainly do not require such a course since their care for honourable Members, staff and visitors is exemplary; and calls on the Serjeant at Arms to cancel this expenditure.
