Motion text

That this House supports the concept of fair trade aimed at giving producers in the Third World a fair deal; and urges the Catering Committee to demonstrate support for this initiative by making Fairtrade-mark products available in the refreshment outlets of the Palace of Westminster.

AVAILABILITY OF FAIRTRADE-MARK PRODUCTS (Amendment 1)
leave out from `House' to end and add `commends the Director of Catering Services for her practical advice to Fairtrade organisation which has assisted them in recently introducing their coffee into the catering market; notes the current contractural arrangements which oblige the Refreshement Department to purchase coffee from their nominated supplier, Matthew Algie & Co Ltd; and further notes with approval the efforts of the Director of Catering Services to facilitate the addition of Fairtrade products to the range of coffees sold by the refreshment Department Department's nominated supplier.'.
