Motion text

That this House urges the British Cycling Federation at its AGM on 7th November to resist international pressure aimed at expelling the Northern Ireland Cycling Federation from the British Cycling Federation; notes that the Northern Ireland Cycling Federation is entitled to membership of the British Cycling Federation under the Olympic Charter in which the meaning of 'Great Britain' is defined under its Constitution as 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'; and further notes that, under the Belfast Agreement, it has been accepted by referenda in Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland that Northern Ireland should remain part of the United Kingdom for so long as that is the will of the people of Northern Ireland.
