Motion text

That this House congratulates One World Week (20th to 27th October) on its nineteenth successful year with the theme Living on The Edge and welcomes this example of development education in action, helping to create a globally-aware and active citizenry, with its important contribution to developing moral values and critical thinking; and urges the Government to create a climate of public opinion which values this work, to set up a partnership with development education activists, and to establish policies to enhance the work of Britain's many excellent development education initiatives, including local development education centres, international linking groups and overseas aid agencies education work.
