Original motion text

That this House welcomes the detention of General Pinochet in London awaiting questioning by the Spanish authorities; recalls his brutal dictatorship under which thousands of people were tortured, died and disappeared; notes this immunity from prosecution in Chile; and urges Her Majesty's Government to continue to assist the Spanish judicial authorities investigating these human rights violations.
