That this House condemns the government of India for detonating three nuclear devices in underground tests and then defying world opinion and protests by detonating two further devices; believes that such action is dangerously inflammatory in an unstable region; believes that testing nuclear weapons is a retrograde step in the current world climate; and calls upon the Government to make representations to India to cease all nuclear testing immediately and sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.
