Motion text

That this House congratulates Sunderland Association Football Club on the official opening of its magnificent new ground the Stadium of Light; acknowledges the enterprise and dedication of the board of directors particularly Chairman Bob Murray who has never waivered in his efforts for the success of the club; and trusts that the results on the field of play will soon match the splendour of the new stadium ensuring the success that the club so manifestly deserves.

at end add 'and, now that some of the finest supporters in the land have a modern stadium to replace their grand old home of Roker Park, hopes that Mr Murray will soon sign two free-scoring forwards to ensure the success that all associated with the club deserve.'.

after 'play' insert 'as so skilfully demonstrated on Saturday 15th November by Sunderland AFC's decisive 4-1 away win over Portsmouth, matching the splendour of the new stadium and ensuring the success that the club and its loyal supporters so manifestly deserve.'.
