Original motion text

That this House notes the centenary of the birth of Aneurin Bevan on 15 November 1897; commemorates the life and work of this remarkable Welshman, Labour Member of the House and reforming Cabinet Minister in the post-war Labour Government; and believes that the values on which Bevan campaigned are still valid today and that the National Health Service, which he founded, stands as a lasting and living memorial to the life and work of a very great man.
