Motion text
That this House notes with grave concern the tabling of Early Day Motion 599 which deals directly with the interests of southern African governments by the honourable Member for Mid Worcestershire; further notes that the honourable Member has a long association with, and is still paid by, companies within Sir Tim Bell's Chime group; further notes that the reported list of clients of Sir Tim Bell's companies include the government of Zimbabwe and the South African government's Ministry for Public Enterprises, along with a number of South African private sector companies; believes it is essential that all honourable Members act in a manner that leaves them above suspicion of paid advocacy; and calls upon the honourable Member to state clearly the nature and extent of any discussions he has had with Sir Tim Bell, executives of the Chime group of companies or any of its southern African clients in advance of the tabling of Early Day Motion 599.
