That this House calls upon the President of the Board of Trade to honour the Government's commitment to oppose the building of pylons across North Yorkshire by the National Grid; notes that power lines can be buried underground and that power should be supplied locally on the basis of demand; and notes that all parties gave a commitment to reject the erection of such pylons and that a definitive decision is now required.

at end add 'and further urges the Government, in reaching this decision, to take into account the serious damage caused to trees, rare plants and habitats within the Troutdale and Rosekirk Dale Fens site of special scientific interest by PDC Ltd., contractors working on behalf of Northern Electric, during maintenance of existing overhead lines.'.
