Motion text

That this House is appalled that Price Waterhouse Coopers, acting as receivers, and Lloyds TSB Bank, who profess to be a caring bank, despite being offered £1.3 million, the asking price for Tursdale Engineering, Bowburn, Durham, have rejected the offer in favour of breaking up the firm for £20,000 less, resulting in the loss of 120 skilled engineering jobs; calls on Price Waterhouse Coopers and Lloyds TSB Bank to explain why they took this incompetent decision; and notes that this typifies the attitude of banks to the communities in which they trade.
