Motion text

That this House welcomes the announcement by Airbus Industrie of a sharp rise in sales and orders, with total new orders in 1998 of 556 new aircraft worth ú23.5 billion; congratulates British Aerospace for its role in the success of the Airbus consortium and wishes Airbus Industrie well in securing more orders in 1999; and hopes that the United Kingdom will continue to lead Europe and the world in the research and development and the manufacture of high quality aerospace products.
