Motion text

That this House deplores the actions of the Right honourable Member for Fylde in supporting a proposal to build a motorway link across glorious countryside near Claughton in the Lancaster and Wyre constituency; is astounded at the discourtesy of the Right honourable Member in assisting such an initiative without any reference to the honourable Member for Lancaster and Wyre, parish councils or local people; considers that the arrogance, nimbyism and lack of regard for the countryside and consultation shows that Conservatives have learnt nothing from their crushing defeat three years ago; calls upon Conservative-controlled Wyre Borough Council and Conservative Members of the European Parliament and transport spokesman, Sir Robert Atkins, to disassociate themselves from this plan; and urges the Deputy Prime Minister to dismiss it out of hand.
