Motion text

That this House gives every support to the campaign to restore Avro Vulcan XH558, the only example of the RAF's 'V-force' that can ever be restored to full working order; congratulates over 15,000 named individuals who have made personal donations, and over 100 companies who have pledged nearly ú1 million's-worth of support in kind; remembers that this year is the 50th anniversary of the first ever flight of the Avro Vulcan, and that this year also marks the 20th anniversary of the Vulcan's crucial missions in the Falklands War; recalls that a petition of over 200,000 signatures was submitted to Parliament in 1992 in an effort to keep the Vulcan flying; notes that an application has now been made to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a grant for this project; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to do all it can to see Vulcan XH558 return to full working order.
