Motion text

That this House welcomes the news that two prisoners of conscience in Tibet have recently been released by the Chinese authorities; expresses concern about other Tibetan prisoners of conscience still being detained; is concerned in particular about Jampel Changchub, the prisoner of conscience of the Rossendale and Hyndburn Amnesty International Group who was imprisoned in 1989 for 19 years in Drapchi Prison and who is believed to be in poor health, and asks the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to call for the release of Jampel Changchub when he next has bilateral discussions with his Chinese counterparts.
