Motion text

That this House notes the oversight which has led to hospital chaplains and spiritual care givers not being included in the list of health professionals exempt from the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998; believes that the important and valuable work of hospital chaplaincies is being significantly compromised by the present situation; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to introduce as soon as possible a suitable amendment which would enable this important aspect of patient care to continue.
