"leave out from 'House' to end and add 'welcomes the decision of the Mayor of London to encourage support for and expand the established St Patrick's Day celebration in London this year; and welcomes his offer to give support to any future St. George's Day celebration should any organisation establish such an event in the future.'."

Original Motion Text

That this House condemns the decision of Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, to allocate ú100,000 to celebrate St Patrick's Day after refusing to organise a celebration for St George's Day; and calls on the Mayor of London to establish parity of esteem for Englishmen and women by allocating an equal amount of ú100,000 for Londoners to celebrate St George's Day on 23rd April.
