Motion text

That this House welcomes the DEFRA-commissioned report, Water-Based Sport and Recreation: the facts, from the University of Brighton that re-affirms the unique legal position in England and Wales which restricts water-based recreation, and identifies the need to open more inland water for access needed for most sports and recreations, in particular the special access difficulties faced by canoeists; and urges the Government to introduce measures to provide fair, equitable and secure access to inland water for water-based sports.
