Motion text

That this House recognises the strength of feeling being demonstrated on the streets of Gibraltar in opposition to the statement of support for Anglo-Spanish negotiations at the recent Barcelona Summit; further deplores attempts to induce the people of Gibraltar to accept Spanish sovereignty with offers of European Union funding for infrastructure projects; commends the Chief minister, Peter Caruana, for rejecting such offers; and calls on the British Government, once again, to commit to recognising the wishes of the people of Gibraltar to remain British.
