Motion text

That this House notes that the letter from the Minister for Rural Affairs on 21st March to honourable Members falls far short of an apology for the erroneous information about parish councils that he placed in the Library; further notes the concern of hard working parish councillors regarding Government interference; believes that Government policy threatens the viability of parish councils; and calls on the minister to issue a public apology to parish councillors and to stop interfering in their affairs.
