That this House considers the access and egress, and the environment around Waterloo Station to be of very poor quality; considers the area grossly unsatisfactory for pedestrians and motorists too; is concerned that there are no plans for significant improvement; is particularly concerned that no authority has the power to implement overall improvement to the area; and calls for a co-ordinated effort led by either the Minister of Transport or the Mayor of London, with legal powers and the necessary resources, to implement a full-scale improvement programme to this area which is of national importance.
