Motion text

That this House welcomes the award of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal to serving members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces; notes that many such officers have served upwards of 30 years in uniform; recognises that all occupy military appointments that would otherwise be filled by serving officers, and many are required to wear uniform as part of their duties; believes that their continued loyal service to the military and the Crown should be acknowledged; and therefore calls on the Ministry of Defence and the Golden Jubilee Committee to award the Jubilee Medal to members of the Retired Officers' Corps in recognition of their continued service with Her Majesty's Armed Forces.
