Motion text

That this House welcomes the Government's amendment in the other place to put the consideration of sustainable development on the face of the Export Control Bill; notes a number of concerns still remain in the Bill; further notes that the Bill could be strengthened to ensure that it controls the activities of all British arms brokers and traffickers wherever they are located and gives proper consideration to the monitoring of controlled goods after they are located; and calls on the Government to consider these issues when the Bill goes through its final stages in the other place and passes back to the Commons to ensure that the United Kingdom has one of the best export control systems in the world.
