Original motion text

That this House notes with concern the report in the Mail on Sunday of 3rd March that the Secretary of state for Transport, Local Government and the Regions has donated six bottles of House of Commons champagne to the Government Whips' Office 'to thank them for their strong-arm work that ensured he survived' his statement to the House on 26th February; and urges the members of that Office to consume the champagne as soon as possible, given the longer-term outlook for the Secretary of State.
