Motion text

That this House expresses its concern that the Government's standard assessment distribution methodology discriminates against Oxfordshire; notes that the total standard spending assessment figure for social services in Oxfordshire of ú13.208m is a very poor indicator of the level of need to spend on social care; calls on the Government to recognise that the need for social services is growing but that standard spending assessment is not sufficiently growing; further calls on the Government to inject money into the social services system nationally at a level of ú800m or nine per cent. in real terms; and further calls on the Government to address the significant problems in the South East region resulting from high employment levels, high land and house prices, and a social economy on the point of collapse.
