Motion text

That this House congratulates the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) on its forty years of courageous and constructive work among the Arab refugees of Palestine; appreciates in particular the efforts of its workers in the Lebanon; believes that it has created an education system equal, or superior, to any other in the Middle East; regards it as an essential factor in maintaining political stability in the area; and calls on the Government to make sure that Britain continues to make a generous financial contribution to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in future years.

After 'area', insert 'deplores the raiding of four UNRWA premises by Israeli troops on 18th October and the arrest of local staff members; requires and expects Israel not to harrass or in any way impede the work of UMRWA.'.
