HUNTING BILL (Amendment 1)
leave out from 'House' to end and insert 'notes that recent opinion polls show that a majority of the British people oppose a ban on hunting and that proposals by the Middle Way Group for licensed hunting are supported by veterinary surgeons, the Public Order Committee of the Association of Chief Police Officers, leading animal welfare academics, lawyers and other objective observers; further notes that the animal welfare aspects of the group's approach have been further strengthened by their proposal to remove the exemptions for hunting from the Wild Mammals (Protection) Act 1996; and commends the Middle Way package as the only one to reflect public and professional opinion, to protect human liberty and to improve animal welfare.'.
