Motion text

That this House notes the valuable community work carried out by non-profit making private members' clubs; acknowledges that working men's, political, ex-service and other clubs have around five million individual members who benefit from the many social and recreational activities provided by these clubs; recognises that many non-profit making clubs endure a constant struggle to survive; calls upon the Government to support the efforts of these clubs who serve not only their own members but do a tremendous job in supporting local and national charities providing outings for children, the elderly and other deserving groups in their communities; and urges the Government to introduce legislation to protect the long-term viability of non-profit making members' clubs.
