Motion text

That this House notes the opinion poll published in Panorama in Gibraltar, which reveals that 86 per cent. of the Gibraltarian people believe The Rock belongs to them, 14 per cent. believe it belongs to Britain and a negligible figure believes ownership lies with Spain; recalls the referendum in November 2002 in which joint sovereignty with Spain was rejected by 99 per cent. of voters; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to accept the democratic wishes of the people of Gibraltar once and for all and end all discussions with Spain on the issue of sovereignty.
