Motion text

That this House is concerned to learn that last year some 4,000 people died in the UK from cancers caused by exposure to asbestos; is aware that it is predicted this figure will rise significantly over the next 15 to 20 years; is alarmed that victims of the fatal fibre are often marginalised, ignored and receive insufficient medical attention; and calls on the Department of Health to evaluate new treatments available to victims in other countries and develop a co-ordinated and integrated approach to research and treatment of UK victims.
