Motion text

That this House welcomes the proposed strategy for domestic energy efficiency improvements that is being developed by DEFRA; hopes that the strategy will include measures to achieve the published targets that are DEFRA's responsibility, namely the achievement of carbon savings from domestic energy efficiency of five million tonnes by 2010 and a further saving of between four and six million tonnes by 2020, as specified in the Energy White Paper, and the achievement of 400MW of electricity generated by micro CHP as specified in the draft CHP strategy; notes that this DEFRA strategy process commenced at the beginning of this session of Parliament; and therefore calls for the strategy to be finalised and published as a matter of urgency.
