Motion text

That this House welcomes the election of the new Government in Kenya and considers that this provides the opportunity for the establishment by the incoming administration of effective and corruption-free government responsive to the needs of the Kenyan people; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to work with the New Kenyan President, Mwai Kibaki, to develop a programme of practical assistance to tackle poverty and to encourage economic regeneration.
