Motion text

That this House acknowledges the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem, in which thousands of lives were lost between 17th and 25th September 1944, including those of many British servicemen; recognises the deep bond of friendship that has since developed between veterans of the British Parachute Regiment and the people in and around the town of Oosterbeek, centre of the conflict and site of the veterans' cemetery; and thanks the tens of thousands of Dutch people of all ages who honoured our ex-servicemen at this years' major anniversary events.
