Motion text

That this House expresses its opposition to the proposed tour of Zimbabwe by the England cricket team; recognises that any such tour would only act as a boost for the Mugabe regime and do nothing for international efforts to condemn Mugabe and his policies or improve the reputation of international cricket; further notes that players should not be sent to play cricket when threats loom over the team's safety while in Zimbabwe; and calls on the Government to work with the International Cricket Council and England and Wales Cricket Board to ensure that the tour to Zimbabwe does not take place.
