Motion text

That this House congratulates Guide Dogs for the Blind for its Healthy Eyes campaign which is taking place in June; notes that the campaign is re-launching Guide Dogs for the Blind's software 'eyekon', which reminds users of visual display units to take breaks at regular intervals in order to protect their eyes; further notes that the campaign will be staging an event at the House on 8th June which will fight for an agenda of increasing access to the NHS for people who are visually impaired; recognises that the campaign's publicity initiative of sending to the top 2,000 companies distorted pictures representing how visually impaired people experience vision is very effective at raising awareness of the challenges they face; congratulates Proctor and Gamble for being the first company to take part in this initiative; and congratulates the many individuals who will be taking part in a number of local events allied to this campaign up and down the country.
