DISABLISM AND TIME TO GET EQUAL

That this House recognises the work of SCOPE, Disability Awareness In Action and DEMOS in researching and publishing their report on disablism, How to Tackle the Last Prejudice; welcomes the conference to launch the Time to Get Equal campaign held in London on 25th May; and calls on the Government to recognise the widespread existence of disablism in public and private life in the UK and take firm and practical action through instructions to Government departments and through legislation to ensure that people with disabilities do get equal and to assist in the fightback against disablism.
