HOSPICE FUNDING
EDM #1284
Tabled 26 May 2004
2003-04 Session
That this House pays tribute to the work of hospices throughout the UK; recognises the excellent work carried out by staff and volunteers to provide the highest quality of care and the dedication and time people give to raising the necessary funds in order that hospices can provide this first class service; notes that hospices have received only a small part of the Government's ú50 million fund for hospices to improve palliative care services as part of the NHS Plan; and calls on the Government to ensure that this funding is directed where it is needed and increase the amount of funding to hospices in order to provide them with a long-term viable future.
