Motion text

That his House notes with concern the gradual rise in the number of newly diagnosed cases of breast cancer recorded annually by the National Statistician; welcomes the production by the NHS of 1.5 million copies of the leaflet entitled, 'Be Breast Aware', in 2002-03; acknowledges the research undertaken by the Committee on Carcinogenicity of Chemicals in Food Consumer Products into organochlorine pesticides and environmental radiation as possible cases of breast cancer; and endorses the call by members of the Women's Environmental Network for a national strategy to reduce instances of breast cancer by promoting systematic research projects and public information campaigns.
