Motion text

That this House supports Prostate Cancer Awareness Week and its objectives of raising the profile of the condition; notes that prostate cancer is now the most common cancer in men and that it causes around 10,000 deaths annually, a figure which could be reduced if men were better aware of the condition; further notes that the incidence of prostate cancer has risen significantly in the last decade; and calls on the Government to instigate an awareness campaign for the condition, as it is committed to do in the NHS Cancer Plan 2000 and to address the calls for action made by the Prostate Cancer Charter for Action.
