Motion text

That this House supports Brain Injury Awareness Week and its aims; congratulates Headway for organising the week and for reaching its silver jubilee this year; notes that Rehab UK and Headway play a crucial role in running support and vocational programmes, to help people who are living with an acquired brain injury get back to work; further notes that the side effects of brain injury include physical impairments such as co-ordination and balance, cognitive difficulties and emotional and behavioural problems; and calls on the Government to ensure brain injury rehabilitation services are properly co-ordinated and that the condition receives due attention in the forthcoming National Service Framework for long-term medical conditions.
