That this House commends the Football Foundation and the Football Stadia Improvement Fund on providing over ú140 million for 1,200 facility, community and education projects across the country and attracting ú180 million in additional inward investment; applauds both organisations for the transformation of the landscape of the national game they are bringing about whilst targeting resources at some of the most vulnerable and hard to reach members of 'society'; congratulates the FA Premier League, the FA and the Government for providing the funds for this vital work; urges them to continue to provide financial support to what has become one of the greatest sporting success stories; and calls on the Government to ensure that everything possible is done to prevent the European Commission threatening the ability of the Football Foundation to continue its good work by placing the financial stability of English football in serious jeopardy.
