Motion text

That this House is concerned at the increases in levels of business rates which the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has recently set for renewable energy producers; believes that they will penalise renewable energy production as higher rates must be paid as renewable energy output increases and that this will be a barrier to the achievement of Government targets for renewable energy production; and calls on the Deputy Prime Minister to consult with his Cabinet colleagues in order to improve the co-ordination of Government policy in this vital area.
