Motion text

That this House applauds the professionalism and courage of all UK armed forces who are on or who have seen active service in the recent past; wishes to recognise that members of the Princess of Wales's Royal regiment drawing from Greater London as well as the counties of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands and Middlesex, have played key roles, including on tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo; notes especially the courage shown by soldiers from the regiment on duty in Iraq, when both regular and Territorial Army soldiers came under sustained enemy fire; and urges all Right honourable and honourable Members with constituencies that fall within the catchment area for recruitment to the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment to raise awareness of the regiment and its achievements.
