Motion text
That this House, in view of the lack of full participation in the final proceedings of the Science and Technology Committee on 14th March and in view of the conclusions reached at that meeting, including in particular the passing of an amendment that `on balance we find no adequate justification for prohibiting the use of sex selection for family balancing', which cannot be justified on moral or ethical grounds, have the most profound implications for the human race and reflect "the brave new world" and given the inherent and widely held objections to cloning and to the Committee's recommendations proposing legislation for the purpose of the use of hybrids and chimeras and on the placing of human embryos in animals and on the status of the embryo, rejects the conclusions of the Committee and calls for the establishment of an ad hoc select committee to look into these matters.
